Friday May 19th Results from Butler County Motorplex

Hot windy weather greeted the fans and racers at Butler County Motorplex on the fourth night of racing for the season. Rick Stolley grabbed the lead in the first of two Limited Late Model heat races. Jim Johnson moved up to wind the second heat with Stolley second, Pat Shanahan third and Tad Pospisil fourth. Heat number two found Taylor Caldwell in control from start to finish. Mike Marushak finished second, Ron Tex was third and Bob Milander fourth.

Scott Styskal took advantage of his starting position and led the first IMCA Modified heat from start to finish. Scott Bivens finished second with Chris Alcorn and Josh Newman rounding out the top four. Brent Schlake led his way to a win in the second heat followed by Tom Svoboda, Todd Topil and Robert Brinkman. Daniel Neeman led the first lap of the final heat but Jason Gaver took control in lap two and got the win. Johnny Saathoff was second, Aaron Pella third and Aaron Kobus fourth.

Derek Thiem controlled the first of three IMCA Hobby Stock heats for the win. Josh Houseman, Travis Runcie and Monte Haugen made the top four. Ron Allen led the first two laps on the second heat race before Jesse VanLaningham took the lead and the win. Ron Allen was second, Rich Small third and Jerry Keaton fourth. Nick Topil controlled the final Hobby Stock heat race for the win as Nathaniel Thompson, Kyle Vanover and Duane Schroeder rounded out the top four.

Darrin Adamy led lap number one in the IMCA Stock Car division but Shane Stutzman took over on lap number two. Lap four found Josh Carpenter in the lead but Ed Kraus took over on lap number four. Carpenter took the lead again on the white flag lap and continued for the win. Kraus was second, Eric Rempel third and Mike Nichols fourth.

Chuck Wergin led from start to finish in the Hornet heat race with Austin Brauner second and Brandon Wergin third.

Travis Long won the first of two Outlaw Vintage Lite heat races. Marvin Naggatz was second, Vaugh Trosk third and Jeff Fuhr fourth. Scott Naggatz won heat two followed by Chick Demoss, Doug Pollick and Tim Jensen.

Brandon Wergin controlled the Hornet feature from start to finish as Chuck Wergin finished second and Austin Brauner third.

Fast Ed Kraus led the first seven laps of the IMCA feature race before Shane Stutzman took over the lead position. Three laps later Mike Nichols took the lead and made it four wins in a row. Stutzman finished second, Ed Kraus third and Doug Adamy fourth. The three different leaders will each get a part of the lap money sponsored by Rehmer Auto Parts of David City.

Derek Thiem took the lead in the IMCA Modified feature but had problems after three laps. Nathaniel Thompson led lap number four and then Jesse Van Laningham took the lead and went on for a win. Travis Runcie finished second, Brian Cudly third and Thompson was fourth.

Travis Long won the Outlaw Vintage Lite feature as Chick Demoss finished second, Doug Pollick was third and Marvin Naggatz fourth.

Beau Sheffield grabbed the lead in the Grand National feature. Beau continued his lead until lap five as Bob Milander took over the front position. Milander continued for the win to keep Travis Dickes from making it three in a row. Dickes finished second, Ron Tex was third and Mike Marushak finished fourth.

Scott Styskal grabbed the lead as twenty -three IMCA Modifieds started the A feature. Styskal held on to the front position for the duration of the race and capture the win on his second night at Butler County Motorplex as fans watched to see if Saathoff could make it three in a row. Todd Topil finished in second with .855 seconds separating the two. Aaron Kobus was third and Robert Brinkman fourth.
