On a brisk windy evening, an estimated 2800 fans filled I-80 Speedway for Kenny Schrader / Kenny Wallace night.
The 25 lap NASCAR Dodge Division II Latemodel feature saw outside pole sitter Josh Most jump out to an early lead over Al Zeitner and Billy Leighton Jr. On lap three, Zeitner would get around Most and hold the lead until lap 13 when Most would ride the cushion and pass Zeitner for the lead. Zeitner would return the favor one lap later taking the point back. Meanwhile 17th place starter Joe Kosiski would pilot his #53 to the bottom of the track and roar through the 24 car field. Kosiski would pass Most with less than five to go, but Zeitner would hold on to take the win over the late charging Kosiski. Most would have his best finish of his short rookie season by taking third. Ed Kosiski and Scott Koskovich finished off the top five.
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup star Kenny Schrader would start 16th on the field after winning his heat race. Schrader would run his Red Baron Pizza sponsored Rayburn on the bottom of the track to a respectable ninth place finish.
The Home Pride Modifieds would have two early race cautions, but when the race got under way it was week one winner Brian Foote at the front of the field. Foote would hold onto the lead until a lap eight restart when points leader Mike Meyer would sneak around his #43. Meyer and Foote would race side by side for the remaining laps along with newcomer Jay Noteboom from Hinton Iowa. Meyer would hold on for the victory over a close Foote and Noteboom. Fellow newcomer David Trauernicht would take home fourth and Chris Hogan finished fifth.
Just like his counterpart, Cup and BGN driver Kenny Wallace would start in the back of his heat and win with his #36 St. Louis Cardinals modified. But Wallace would not find as much success as Schrader, he would finish 17th in the main event.
The Grand National Division would see front row starters Jody Krug and Joey Bauer Jr. battle side by side or the lead for the first half of the 20 lap race. Lap traffic would come into play as Dave Livingston took the lead from Krug on lap 12. Livingston, who was looking for the weekend sweep at I-80, would have everything under control until two laps to go when his #17 would get loose in turn two. Krug, Dave Doll, and Dave Cook all passed Livingston after his mistake. Krug would hold on for the win over Doll and Cook. Livingston would settle for fourth, and Bauer would take fifth.
The Stereo West AutoToys Hobby Stocks would have seventh place starter Jeremy Swanson take the lead on lap four. Swanson would lead the remaining laps and take the feature win. Justin Leach, Bob Kracher, Jesse Sobbing, and Jeremy Auten rounded out the top five.
