ASCS Midwest Makes Tracks for McCool Junction

TULSA, Okla. (May 22, 2006) – The American Sprint Car Series Midwest Region fires back into action this Friday night, headlining a big Open Wheel only card at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE.

Taking to the semi-banked, 3/8-mile dirt oval for the second ASCS Midwest Region event of the year, Friday’s card also includes the POWRi Midgets.

In the ASCS Midwest Region season opener, Missouri’s Brown topped a stellar field of 69 entries at I-80 Speedway in an event co-sanctioned with the ASCS Northern Plains Region and the NCRA.

With triumphs in four of eight ASCS Midwest Region events contested since the beginning of 2005, Brown leads the way into Friday’s event with a number of top contenders expected including ’05 Junction Motor Speedway ASCS Midwest Region winner Jason Danley, ’05 series runner-up Toby Chapman, Seth Brahmer, Chad Humston, J.D. Johnson and Mike Chadd among others.

Approximately 35 entries are expected for Friday’s action, which is slated to get under way at 7:00 p.m.

Junction Motor Speedway is located off I-80 Exit 353, then 5.6 miles south on US 81, then 0.3 mile west on CR 4 (Lushton Rd.), then north. For more information, contact the track at 402-724-3100 or 402-773-5538.

The 2006 slate for the ASCS Midwest Region consists of thirteen events at eight tracks throughout Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas.

In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
