Joe Kosiski Does It Again, Livingston Doubles Up at I-80

By Joey Sparano

(GREENWOOD NEB., 07/09/06) Joe Kosiski picks up his fourth win in a row at the I-80 Speedway, while Dave Livingston picks up his second feature win this weekend. Other feature winners were Jerimiah Sillman and Josh True on Kids Money Grab night.

The 25 lap NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series "A" feature event saw the #1L of Mike Wallace take the lead on lap one. Wallace would maintain the point until lap seven when the #76 of "Awesome Al" Zeitner would pull to the low side and take the lead. Action would slow one lap later for a piece of debris. On the restart current NASCAR Division II leader Joe Kosiski would drive from fifth to second in the running order. Two laps later Kosiski would edge out Zeitner for the lead at the line. The race would stay green the rest of the way and Kosiski would go on to take his sixth victory of the season. Zeitner would finish second ahead of Ed Kosiski, Bryant Goldsmith, and Leon Zeitner.

Jerimiah Sillman would start on the pole and win the 18 lap Home Pride Modified feature. Justin Clark would take second. Mike Meyer would start tenth and take third. Mike Johnson and Nick Carlson rounded out the top five.

The 20 lap Grand National division feature would have Randy Archer jump to an early lead on lap one. Archer would keep the lead until lap four, that's when Rick Stolley would loose control of his #10 in turn two. Andrew Kosiski would hit Stolley's car, but they both were able to continue with damage. On the restart the #17 of Dave Livingston would lead the fifth lap, but the caution flew again for the #T3 of Gary Leapley. After the restart the race went for 15 straight green flag laps and Livingston would take the checkers. This was Livingston's second feature win of the weekend as he won Saturday's NASCAR Division IV CRATE latemodel "A" main. Point leader Dave Doll took second, Shawn Harker brought home third after battling Ron Tex Jr. to the line. The 2005 NRP Grand National Champion Joey Bauer Jr. came home fifth.

The Stereo West Auto Toys Hobby Stocks would have trouble on lap one. That is when the #15m of Brandon Richards would get upside down and roll in turn one. Richards was unhurt, but his car had heavy damage to it. When the race got restarted it was "SpongeBob" Kracher who was the race leader. On lap four hard charging Chuck Madden Jr. would loose the handle on his #2x. Madden who started 11th would keep his car running and rejoin the field a half lap down. Kracher would keep the lead, but he would be challenged by Josh True and Tom Myers for the last half of the race. The three would race three wide until Myers pulled into the pits on lap eleven. With Myers gone, that gave True a little more room and he would pass Kracher on the white flag lap. True would then come around and take the checkers. Jesse Sobbing would come from fourth to second on the last lap. Kracher held on for third. Jeremy Auten and Justin Leach came across fourth and fifth.
