I-80 Results 7-22-06

(Greenwood, Ne., 7/22/06) – The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Division IV at
I-80 Speedway Saturday night saw 5 drivers taking wins who are pretty much locked into the top tens in their classes for the Race for the Chase Championship set to start
The first weekend in August. Jason Hobscheidt, Shawn Bulin, Harry Nixon, Rick
Havenridge and Nate Brown were victorious once again.

The 20 lap Crate Late Model feature saw Curt Drake take the early lead only to lose it
by the end of lap 1 to Trevor Millikan. Hobscheidt, who started 6th was in 2nd by lap
2 and on lap 5 he took the lead from Millikan. Mike Wallace joined the chase on lap 12
but could not make the pass he needed to win. Todd Morgan took 3rd ahead of Ron Tex
Jr. and Dave Doll. Track point leader Bill Leighton Jr. finished 6th. Dave Livingston,
Ron Tilley and Morgan won the heat races. For Hobscheidt it was his 2nd feature win
on the season.

The Certified Transmission Pro-am 18 lap feature saw 4 drivers battle for the early lead
with Jeremy Longmeyer in front at the end of lap 1. Longmeyer would hold the lead til lap 6 when Shawn Bulin passed him. Bulin held the lead the rest of the way despite one
yellow flag period. Jason Cieslik made a late race push to take 2nd over Rick Negrete,
point leader Scotty Hartman. Longmeyer held on to a season best 5th place. It was Bulin’s
3rd win of the year.

The B-Mod feature saw Lacey Tuttle take the early lead from her outside front row
starting position. Nixon started 6th, but by lap 5 he wrestled the lead from Tuttle.
Nixon held off a late race charge from Floyd Richards to record his 5th win of the
year. Richards finished 2nd ahead of Daryl Weilage and Tuttle. Nixon retook the points
lead from Jim Fitz, whose car broke in his heat race.

The Tobacco Free Nebraska Pro-Hornet feature saw Joe McConnell go from a 3rd
position start to take the early lead. But Havenridge was in front in turn 2. He
survived challenges from Brandon Wergin and Cory Askeland to record his 3rd
feature win of the year. Points leader Austin Kurtzer finished 4th

The TFN Novice Hornet hads its laps cut to 2 after a bad wreck in turn 2 that saw the
cars of Megan Christensen and Mollee Collins barrel roll 3 times. Collins was trying
to avoid Christensen when her car went over. Earlier in the race 3rd generation driver
Zack Cochran spun and hit the inside wall head on in his first time on the track. All the
drivers were ok but there cars were totaled. Nathan Brown came away with his 2nd
feature win in this race.
