Jim Brennan

(Greenwood, Ne., 08/18/07) The NASCAR Whelen All American Series
Season Championship races were held Saturday night with Ron Tex Jr.,
Kortney Kosiski, Scott Carlson, Shawn Bulin, Pete Fink Jr., Kennin Colestock
And Dan Satriano taking feature wins in their respective classes.

The Pro-Stock 18 lap feature saw Jim Kruse take the early lead only to lose it
in turn 2 to Shawn Bulin. Bulin led the rest of the way for his feature win of the year.
Larry Robinson Jr. closed on him late in the race but ran out of laps and had to
settle for second ahead of Tim Podraza, Scotty Hartman and Jason Cieslik.
Bulin also won the track championship. The top 2 rookie contenders Doug Stevenson
and Nick Deal finished 7th and 8th.

The 25 lap Crate Late Model feature saw Dwane Pospisil take the early lead. But it was short lived as Brad Soll passed him on the back chute. Soll stayed in front til about 5 laps left when Ron Tex Jr. blew by him on the high side of the track and went on to record his 1st win of the season overSoll, Joe Kosiski, Jason Hobscheidt and Kenny Edwards.
Hobscheidt is the 2007 Track Champion.

For the second week in a row the Novice Crate Late Models saw another career milestone win for a young lady, Kortney Kosiski. Mike Gillespie took the early lead and held it til lap 5 when Kosiski took over. Last week’s winner Mollee Collins ended up 2nd after Kenny Bartram’s car was too light crossing the scales. Gillespie held on for 3rd ahead of Rob Kosiski, Ryan Gladwin and Lindsey Yost. Gladwin ended up winning the Track
Points Title.

The B-Modified feature saw Nick Hermsen grab the early lead. But point leader Jared
Hoefelman shot through the pack and took the lead on lap 3. Scott Carlson took 2nd on lap 7 and began to real Hoefelman in. Carlson was hooking up on the high side of the track
And passed Hoefelman with 5 to go. Carlson went on to his 7th feature win of the year but
Hoefelman, a rookie, won his first Track Championship. Harry Nixon, Hermsen and Floyd Richards rounded out the top 5 in the feature.

Dan Satriano was the only 305 Sprint Car to show up, so he won his first feature of the year against himself.

The Pro-Hornet Feature saw Pete Fink Jr. pick up his first career win over Steve McConnell, Steve England, Joe Baker and last years champion Austin Kurtzer.
Justin Soule with a 7th place finish took the track championship over Baker and England.

The Novice Hornet feature saw Kennin Colestock lead from start to finish for his 2nd win of the year. Alex Fink came on to take 2nd over Dan Rasmussen, Russell Johnson and Sarah Preble. Fink won the Track Championship.
