Al Unser, Jr at Adams County Speedway Sept. 1

September 1st will be one of the bigger event nights ever scheduled at the Adams County Speedway. Cellular 29 Plus and Lyrix Wireless will celebrate their 15th Anniversary by having special guest Al Unser, Jr. come to the facility for an autograph session. Unser is a two-time Indy 500 champion and has many other accomplishments to his credit which include being a two-time CART champion as well as a two-time IROC champion.

On the track for a night of Whelen All-American Series action will be the regular show of the NAPA hobby stocks, Northland Oil pro streets, Budweiser modifieds and Whelen late models. It will also be the Whelen late model king of the hill presented by Sunoco/Diamond Oil/Ironman Racing Supply. Also in attendance for the first time will be a fifth class of cars, which will be the NRP rules Crate late models.

Also, for this weekend there will be bonus money for the top two finishers in the hobby stocks, pro streets, modifieds and late models thanks to Raymond James Financial Services of Clarinda, Iowa. The top two finishers in the Whelen late models will receive a $50 bonus in their pay envelope. The top two in the Budweiser modified, Northland Oil pro streets, and NAPA hobby stocks will get a $25 tip in their pay envelope.

If we have one more rainout, we will add September 15th as a rain date. With two nights to go Chris Spieker holds a 6 point lead over Paul Glendenning and 7 points over Karl Ritterbusch in the Whelen late models.
