Modified $1000 to win event at I-80 August 14

Greenwood, Nebraska (May 15, 2007)-On Tuesday, August 14, Modified drivers will have a chance to win $1000 at I-80 Speedway in a 20 lap feature race as part of the 3rd Annual Hooters Wingless Sprint Bandit Nationals. Joining them that night will be the ASCS 360 Sprints, and the main event of the night showcases the 410 Wingless Sprint Bandits.

Drivers competing in the $1,000 to win Modified Event do not need a license from any sanctioning body, as this is not a sanctioned event. The rest of the purse is as follows: 2nd $600, 3rd $400, 4th $250, 5th $200, 6th $190, 7th $180, 8th $170, 9th $160, 10th $150, 11th $125, 12th $110, and 13th through last pays $100. All non-qualifiers will receive $50. Entry fee is $50 and pit passes are $30.

A ball draw will be used to determine the starting lineups, and the I-80 Speedway passing points system will be used to determine the lineups for the feature which will field 22 cars. The I-80 Speedway Modified and IMCA Modified rules will apply. McCreary or Hoosier Tires will be allowed.

Tuesday’s racing action begins at 7:00 pm. The pit gate opens at 4:30 pm, grandstand gate at 5:30pm with hot laps at 6pm. Adult grandstand admission is $20.00, and Children 10 and under are FREE. Fans can pick up $5 off grandstand admission coupons exclusively at Hooters in Omaha, 126th and West Center Road. Advance tickets are only $17 through Monday, August 13th.
