This Saturday night August 25th marks the 50th Anniversary of Beatrice Speedway. During intermission there will be a very special presentation.
The very first race at Beatrice Speedway was August 25th 1957 with Gordy Shuck of Edgar Nebraska pulling down the checkers piloting his 1932 Plymouth equipped with a 1952 DeSoto powerplant.
Grandstand admission was well over 2,000 people that hot summer day. Adult admission was 90 cents for adults and 50 cents for kids.
