LINCOLN, Neb. (Aug. 26) – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and
two events for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks are on the ticket for the
Friday, Aug. 31 Nebraska State Fair Championships in Lincoln.
The Modified feature is a qualifier for the 2008 Fast Shafts All-Star
Invitational ballot and pays a minimum of $150 to start. Hobby Stocks
run for $250 to win in their feature, while the NAPA-sponsored Race
of Champions pits the top two drivers in point standings at each
sanctioned track in the state in a special $500 to win 20-lap event.
National, regional and Smiley's Racing Products state points will be
awarded for both the Modified and Hobby Stock features.
Gates at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds open at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps
are at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
