RED CLOUD, NE (August18)—Mother nature intervened during the racing program Friday evening, August 18, at The Speed Bowl in Red Cloud, NE. After 8 laps of the 14-lap IMCA Hobby Stock feature were completed, a slow steady rained forced track officials to postpone the remainder of the program until next Friday, August 25. The make-up features for the IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Modifieds and Late Models will run first, followed by the regular race program. Powder Puff races will cap off the final night of racing action this season at Red Cloud.
At press time, track officials were uncertain about the IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Jamie Reiman of Blue Hill was leading when the program was halted.
The Cruisers did get their feature complete before the rains came. Point leaders Adam Sidlo & E.J. Kothe of Hastings passed early leaders Joe & Jacob Krone late in the race to claim their 8th win of the season at the 3/8-mile oval. The Krones finished second, followed by Josh & Vic Jacobitz. The Krones won the heat race.
