HARTMAN MAKES IT 2 IN A ROW IN CHASE; LIVINGSTON &
NIXON RETURN TO WINNERS CIRCLE

Jim Brennan

(Greenwood, Ne., 8/19/06) The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Race for
the Chase saw Scotty Hartman make it 2 in a row in the Pro-ams while Dave
Livingston and Harry Nixon returned to the winners circle in the Late Model
And Sports Mod classes.

The Certified Transmission Pro-am 18 lap feature saw Larry Robinson Jr. jump
out front from his outside front row start. Robinson looked like he would be heading
to the winners circle until lap 6 when he retired with a flat tire. Shawn Bulin
inherited the lead at this point. But Hartman was on the move taking over second on
lap 8 when Thad Thomson spun out. Hartman took the lead on lap 10 and then survived
a restart on lap 11 to record his 2nd straight win in the Race for the Chase and fifth
win overall. Bulin held on to 2nd ahead of Joe Feyen, Shane Bales and Terry Cleveland.
Nick Steier, Chad Sanders, Ray Dessel, Jeff Atkins and Jason Cieslik rounded out
the top 10.

The Dodge Crate Late Model 20 lap feature started out with a bang as five cars tangled
in turn 4 bringing out the red flag. It started when Todd Morgan got sideways and
collected the cars of Scott Green, Shawn Harker, Kortney Kosiski and Kenny Edwards.
Green and Harker were able to restart but the others went to the pits. When the green
Flew again Trevor Millikan jumped out to the early lead ahead of Livingston. But by
the time the first lap ended Livingston had the lead in a brand new car. But the car was
pushing in the corners and Livingston wore himself out trying to keep the car turning
left. Livingston managed to put it away after a restart on lap 17 and recorded his first win since July eighth and his 4th of the year. Dave Doll had a strong finish to come home
second ahead of Billy Leighton Jr., Ron Tex Jr. and Scott Carlson. Leighton reclaimed
the point lead as Jason Hobscheidt finished 8th.

The B-Mod feature saw Jim Hendricks grab the early lead only to lose it to Harry
Nixon in turn 3. Nixon would be challenged by Roger Harpster first and the Daryl
Weilage late. Weilage was just inside his rear quarter as the checkered flag fell.
Harpster held on to third ahead of Floyd Richards and Jim Fritz. For Nixon it was
his 7th win of the season. But Weilage took over the point lead by 1 over Nixon.

The Tobacco Free Nebraska Pro-Hornets saw Austin Kurtzer take the early lead,
but by lap 3 Cory Hutchison was challenging. Hutchison took the lead on lap 6
but lost it on the next lap to second generation driver, Joe McConnell in the M & M’s
#36. McConnell held on for his first win of the season over Jamie Spanel, Lindsey
Yost, Steve England and Travis Meyer.

The TFN Novice Hornet feature saw another McConnell brother, Steve, take the
early lead over Nathan Brown. McConnell would hold the lead til lap 6 when point
leader Nate Christensen passed him. Christensen went on to record his eighth feature
win of the year. Kelson Kurtzer closed strong to take 2nd ahead of Steve McConnell,
Brown and Will McConnell.

NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series action continues next Saturday with the Crate
Late Models, Pro-ams, B-Mods, Pro-Hornets and Novice Hornets. Hot laps are
