Greenwood, NE (8/28/06) Nebraska Raceway Park’s I-80 Speedway is pleased to announce the details of the 2006 Cornhusker Classic scheduled for September 22 nd and 23 rd with a rain date of Sunday, September 24 th if it’s needed. 6 divisions of race cars will compete for over $80,000 in awards and prize money over the 2 day event. The WDRL Super Late Models will headline this year’s event with Hobby Stocks, Pro Stocks (ProAms and Stock Cars), Grand Nationals, Modifieds, IMCA/CNCTA Late Models rounding out the star studded event.
The Trail Performance/Trade Center Automotive 305 Sprint Cars, B-Mods and Tobacco FREE Nebraska Hornets will be in competition in the 1 st Annual Cornhusker Nationals scheduled for Saturday, October 7 th. The 3rd Annual Crash-O-Rama will also be on the card that night and will be run immediately following the Nationals.
Friday, September 22 nd will kick off the weekend with a complete WDRL race show (25 laps) plus qualifying heat races for all other competing divisions. Friday’s gate times will be announced after all of the related activities are set. The racing action is tentatively scheduled to start at 7pm.
The racing on Saturday will consist of another complete WDRL race show (50 laps) for the Super Late Models and last chance races and A-Feature events for the Stereo West Hobby Stocks, Certified Transmission Pro-Ams and Stock Cars, Home Pride Pro Modifieds, Grand Nationals and IMCA/CNCTA Late Models.
Saturday’s Gate times are also pending completion of the related activities schedule. Race time is tentatively set for 6:30pm.
A flyer and an entry form, giving a condensed version of the schedule, rules, starting times, entry fees and purses, will be available on the Nebraska Raceway Park/I-80 Speedway web site at www.neracewaypark.com or via the USPS by calling 402-342-3453 during normal business hours.
