Eagle, NE (April 22, 2006) – A new promoter, two new classes and a great crowd of eager fans kicked off 2006 at Eagle Raceway Saturday night. After a two-week delay to the start of the season, racing kicked off full force with over 110 cars on MDS Pharma Services Meet ‘n Greet night.

The 4-cylinder Tuner classes are spreading like wildfire at Nebraska tracks and Eagle Raceway welcomed 15 new racers. Adrian Dover, older sister of sprint car rookie Jack Dover drew pole position for the 10 lap A feature. Though nervous she didn’t show it on the track where she dominated each circuit to win over Mike Kennedy and Kevin Kuker.

The Hobby Stock A-main greeted fans with a photo-finish as Brian Cudly started outside pole of the 15-lap race and held off Brian Wulf and RJ Macku to take his first win at the 1/3-mile track.

Scott Bivens slipped past pole-sitter Terry Hurt midway through the 20-lap IMCA Modified A feature as the David City driver returned to Eagle Raceway after a two-year hiatus. Six-time champion Mike Meyer won a late race battle with Robert Brinkman to take second place.

Several yellow flags dogged the early laps of the Sprint A feature, and officials shaved off five of the scheduled 25 laps. It didn’t matter to two-time champion Bruce Divis as he started on the pole and led each lap to take his first win since May 3, 2003. Terry Holliman ran strong in second with Jeff Griffis taking home third.

Next Saturday it’s All Faiths night at Eagle Raceway with pastors and youth group leaders sharing in the 50/50 raffle prize. Fans will also receive $2 off admission at the front gate, with fans 13 and under getting in for free.
