JMS Cornhusker Midgets Night 1: Stratton takes Feature

McCool Junction, Neb........Danny Stratton of Fontana, Calif. won Tuesday
night's 30-lap USAC National/Western Midget race at Junction Motor Speedway
co-sanctioned by POWRi. He trailed Jerry Coons Jr. for 29 laps, then took
the lead on the final lap in his Bender Brothers Builders/Hammer Homes
Spike/Esslinger when Coons blew a tire. Coons ended up 19th in the feature
finish. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished second ahead of Josh Wise, Scott Hatton
and Brad Loyet. The National and Western series return to McCool Junction
Wednesday night before moving on to the Belleville (Kans.) High banks for
Friday and Saturday's 30th Mopar Belleville Midget Nationals.
