Hobscheidt Leads Wire To Wire To Take Crate Late Model Victory At I-80 Speedway

By: Joey Sparano

(GREENWOOD NEB., 07/21/07) Jason Hobscheidt would lead every lap of the
Great Clips Crate Late Model feature in route to his third feature
victory of the 2007 season. Terry Cleveland, Jared Hoefelman, Nick
Clifford, Dave Christensen, Steve Saunders, and Darrin Hoegren would
also make the trip to the winners circle as USG presented the NASCAR
Whelen All-American Series at I-80 Speedway.

The 25 lap Great Clips Crate Late Model "A" feature would see the #1 of
Jason Hobscheidt jump to an early lead on lap one. The only yellow of
the race would fly a few laps into the event as the #2d of Todd Morgan
made contact with the outside wall on the back chute. When the green
waved once more it was Hobscheidt still out front, but the #97d of Dave
Doll would make his way into the runner up position. Fifth place starter
Andrew Kosiski would make his way up to the third position and pass Doll
for second as the halfway mark approached. Hobscheidt would then make
his way through lap traffic on route to victory. Kosiski finished
second. Kenny Edwards would pass Dave Doll on the final lap for third.
Ron Tex Jr. came home fifth.

The 18 lap Ty's Outdoor Power Equipment "A" feature event would see
veteran drivers Shawn Bulin and Terry Cleveland battle for the victory
in the final laps. Cleveland would race the lower groove of the track as
Bulin used the higher groove. The final five laps would see close action
between the two racers, but as the checkered flag flew, it was Cleveland
taking the win. Bulin finished second, Thad Thomson would work from the
8th row to get third. Scotty Hartman and Andy Miller rounded out the top
five.

After three yellows in the first two laps, Jared Hoefelman would drive
from the sixth row to win the 15 lap Midas B-Mod feature event. Scott
Carlson would also come from the sixth row to finish second. Rising Star
Candidates Hank Dewild and Lacey Tuttle would finish third and fourth
respectively. Larry Robinson Sr. finished fifth.

Nick Clifford would come back from an early spin to win the 12 lap
Midwest Linings 305 Sprint Car feature. Clifford would make a last lap
pass on Trish Dover coming off of turn two to take the win. Dover, Matt
Stelzer, Dan Satriano, and Steve Hurst rounded out the five car field.

The 12 lap Stereo West Auto Toys Pro Hornet main event would see the
#74c of Dave Christensen take the feature win from his outside front row
starting position. Austin Kurtzer would finish second with Justin Soule
finishing third. Pete Fink Jr. and Steve Mcconnell rounded out the top five.

Steve Saunders would pass Amanda Leonardo to win the 8 lap Novice Crate
"A" feature event. Rob Kosiski would finish second, Leonardo third,
Scott Keffer and Lindsey Yost were fourth and fifth. Ryan Gladwin would
be running third on the final lap when he spun out in turns three and four.

The 8 lap Stereo West Auto Toys Novice Hornet feature event would see
the #19 of Darrin Hoegren take the feature win. Kennin Colestock, Scott
Rasmussen, Russell Johnson, and Bobby Weak rounded out the top five.
