Adam Gullion knows the feelings that rushed through Carl Edwards last
Sunday after the NASCAR Nextel Cup superstar ended a 52-race drought by
winning the Citizens Bank 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Although they race on a much smaller scale, for Gullion and most of the
sprint car drivers who compete at Eagle Raceway, the challenge to win a
feature race is just as difficult as what Edwards faces each weekend.
"I've been in a race car since I was 12 and Eagle's probably one of the
toughest tracks I've ever even watched a race on," said Gullion, a
21-year-old from Beatrice. "The first time I won an 'A' feature there, that'
s probably the first time I've won and cried about it, because it's that big
a deal.
