Greenwood, Nebraska (June 25, 2007)-Not only will the roar of the race car
engines fill the air at I-80 Speedway this weekend, but fireworks will light
up the sky as Nebraska's only NASCAR sanctioned track celebrates the
Independence Day weekend. Also, car smashing and banging returns to the
front stretch of the track on Saturday for the second demolition derby of
the year, and kids will be digging in dumpsters for prizes on Sunday!
Coca-Cola presents the NASCAR Whelen All American Series on Saturday, June
30 with Great Clips Crate Late Models, Ty's Outdoor Power Equipment Pro
Stocks, Midas B Mods, Stereo West Auto Toys Hornets and Novice Crates.
After the fast-paced racing action, the cars of the second demolition derby
of the year will tangle on the front stretch for $500 to win. Then, the
skies will light up with the first of two nights of fireworks!
Tickets prices for Saturday are $10 for adults, seniors (62 and older) and
juniors (11-17 years) with ID are $8, and kids 10 and under are FREE.
Grandstand gates open at 5:30 p.m., hot laps at 6:30 p.m., and racing at
7:00 p.m. Pit gates open at 4:00 p.m., and driver cutoff time for check-in
and driver's meeting is 6:15 p.m.
The excitement of Independence Day weekend continues on Sunday, July 1 as
Waste Management presents the NASCAR Whelen All American Series and Kid's
Dumpster Dig. On the race card for the night will be the Dodge Super Late
Models, City Weekly Grand Nationals, Modifieds and Hobby Stocks. At
intermission, 10 lucky I-80 Speedway Jr. Fan Club members will get the
chance to climb into the Waste Management Dumpster to dig for prizes!

the ever-popular Shopko Kid's Bike Races!
