Stolen engine completely dismantled in trailer

Thieves stole most of a Chevrolet racing engine, leaving just the
engine block, and police believe it occurred overnight Saturday.

The engine parts, valued at $7,000, were reported stolen Sunday
morning along with more than $5,000 in tools, according to Lincoln
Police reports. The items were in an enclosed car trailer, Lincoln
Police Capt. David Beggs said.

The total loss is estimated at about $12,125, which includes damage to
the trailer.

The equipment belongs to ATH Motorsports, better known as the #3 of
Chris Alcorn. Information on the equipment and contact is as follows:

Misc. Rocker Arms/Lifters/Pushrods

Also, Derick Noonan reports that he was robbed Saturday night of tools
and parts from his race and personal car.

It seems like we may have an epidemic. For those of you who "know a guy with a car" keep an eye peeled. If you drive by their house on your normal route home, slow down and take one more look. If you see anything suspicious, don't assume - call the police.
