Greg Weld to Speak at Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

LINCOLN, Neb. (Sept. 7, 2007) -- Greg Weld, of the famous Weld Racing family
of Kansas City, MO, will be the guest speaker at the 2007 Nebraska Auto
Racing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Oct. 12.

Greg Weld won the 1963 Knoxville Nationals, the premiere event in sprint car
racing. Weld raced in the USAC Championship Car series in the 1965-1972
seasons, with 36 career starts, including the 1970 Indianapolis 500. He
finished in the top ten 11 times, with his best finish in fourth position in
1970 at Sacramento. He was also the 1967 USAC Sprint Car Series champion.

Weld also founded Weld Wheel Industries, a firm manufacturing forged alloy
wheels for various vehicles, including race cars, and was an active sponsor
of both race cars and series, including the United States Auto Club series,
and ran the firm until its acquisition by American Racing Equipment in 2006.

The members of the Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame class of 2007 include
Edwin "Tex" Arnold, Omaha; Larry Danhauer, Lincoln; Sam Hoffman, Omaha; R.
(Ronney) Householder, Omaha; Glen Robey, Omaha; Jim Schuman, Lincoln; and
Darrell Zimmerman, Big Springs.

Tickets for the Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony are $18
in advance, $20 at the door or you may purchase a table for 10 people for
$150. Included in the price of a ticket is a tour of the Museum of American

The purpose of the Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame is to perpetuate the
memory of these individuals who have brought lasting fame to the state of
Nebraska through their efforts in auto racing.

Nominees to the Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame must have been a resident
of the state for at least two years and must be retired for at least four
years from the discipline they are being honored for. Active participants in
the sport will be considered if they are at least 55 years of age and have
been with the sport for at least 30 years.

All candidates must have made positive contributions to the sport of auto
racing on a local, regional and go on to some national prominence.

The Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame is located inside the Museum of
American Speed at 340 Victory Lane on the Speedway Motors complex in
Lincoln, Neb.

The Museum of American Speed hours: May through September, two-hour guided
tours begin at 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. October through April,
two-hour guided tours begin at 2 p.m. every Friday. Admission is $10 to tour
the museum.
