Harris Clash Rained Out

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 17) – With a record field of IMCA Modifieds and  

Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods on hand, the stage was almost set  

for Thursday night’s Harris Clash special at Knoxville Raceway.

Then the rain came.

Inclement weather arrived late in the evening, but early enough to  

wash out the 25-lap Modified main event, along with final qualifying  

races and the feature for the Northern SportMods.

The event will not be rescheduled.

Modified entries totaled 122, from eight states and Australia. John  

Logue of Boone, winner of the 2000 Clash, had drawn the pole while  

defending race winner Clayton Christensen of Spencer was to start fifth.

Northern SportMods, in just their third year on the Clash card,  

numbered 61. Brian Miller of Grand Junction and Max Harder of Blue  

Springs, Neb., had drawn front row starts for that feature.
