ASCS Northern Plains Battle Shifts to I-90 This Friday
Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (July 21, 2008) – Lee Grosz and Eric Lutz are
locked in another battle for the American Sprint Car Series Northern Plains
Regional championship. And they'll continue that battle this Friday night
when the series invades I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD.
Grosz outlasted Lutz as well as Dave Glennon to capture the series crown
last year.
Now, the 20-year-old from Harwood, ND, is vying for a second series title
aboard Doug Howells' Wesmar-powered Bergstrom Electric No. 4J J&J.
With the initial half-dozen events of the season in the books, Grosz holds a
34-point advantage over Eric Lutz, who is trying to capture his first series
title aboard his father's Bruns-powered Dell Rapids Chevrolet/Pontiac No. 5
Schnee after finishes of second and third the past two seasons.
Friday's action at I-90 Speedway fires off at 8:00 p.m.
The high-banked, 3/8-mile I-90 Speedway dirt oval is located three miles
west of Hartford, SD, on SR 38. For more information, contact the track at
605-528-6380.
The ASCS Northern Plains Region is set for 11 nights of racing action at
eight different tracks throughout South Dakota, Minnesota, North Dakota,
Nebraska and Iowa in 2008.
The nation's most prominent Sprint Car sanctioning body with a dozen
different Regions throughout the United States in addition to the O'Reilly
