SLMR Debut at I-80 April 5

$2000 to win in first race of new late model series

Greenwood, NE (March 14, 2008) –Dirt racing fans in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa will hear engines come to life at Nebraska’s I-80 Speedway on Saturday, April 5 with the $2000 to win premiere night of the Spec Late Model Racing Series (SLMR). Joining the SLMR will be the IMCA Modifieds, Northern Sport Mods and Hobby stocks for their opening IMCA point nights at the track.

"This series will usher in a new era of local late model racing as top drivers from the Midwest region compete at area tracks bringing more opportunities for area race fans to see their favorite late model stars," said Ed Kosiski, track promoter. "The SLMR class combines the best of late model drivers who have raced in such classes as local NASCAR Super Late Model Series, IMCA Late Models and other touring series.”
