Midgets Return to Eagle, Butler County

Eagle, Butler County Motorplex and Junction Motor Speedway open Fifth Annual Midget Klassic to Open 2008 “Midget Money Week”

American Independent Midget Series

Arvada, CO. The American Independent Midget Series (AIMS) will sanction the first two events of the biggest week of the year for Midget Racing Teams and Open Wheel Fans.

The 2008 Series will begin at Eagle Raceway in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Sunday evening July 27th with The Annual “Ron Hughes JR and SR Memorial Race”. The next night Monday July 28th, the Midgets move 70 miles up the highway to the 3/8th Mile High Banked Dirt track at Butler County Motorplex in Rising City, Nebraska. The Southern Midget Racing Series (SMRS) and the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association (RMMRA) will co-sanction with AIMS.

The series first two races at Eagle NE and Rising City, NE replaces the “Kansas Midget Klassic” which had a four year run at Dodge City KS.

The next two nights the Midgets will move to Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE, another short 80 mile trip. The POWRI Midget Association will be the sanctioning group for the Tuesday July 29th and Wednesday July 30th shows. Thursday night July 31st, the Midgets get their one night off to prepare for the Belleville Midget Nationals on Friday night Aug. 1st and Saturday night Aug. 2nd. The annual Belleville Midget Nationals will be sanctioned by USAC.

Some $130,000.00 in prize money makes this series the richest of the year.

The All-Star Sprint Car Series will be at the Belleville High Banks on that Thursday night July 31st to make this week an Open Wheel fans dream.

Friday, Aug. 1st - Belleville High Banks; Belleville, KS. - 1/2 Mile - USAC
Saturday, Aug. 2nd - Belleville High Banks; Belleville, KS. - 1/2 Mile - USAC
