of competition, the American Sprint Car Series Midwest Region has released
its 2008 schedule.
The ASCS Midwest Region is currently slated for eleven nights of racing
action in 2008 at eight different tracks throughout Nebraska, Kansas,
Missouri and Iowa.
For the third year in a row, the series opens the season with a two-night
stand versus the ASCS Northern Plains Region at Nebraska Raceway Park's I-80
Speedway in Greenwood, NE, on April 14-15.
After a pair of stops at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE, on
May 23 and June 27, the ASCS Midwest Regional troops take on the O'Reilly
ASCoT National forces at Kansas City's Lakeside Speedway on July 4.
A week later, the series takes to the lightning-fast high banks of U.S. 36
Raceway in Cameron, MO.
Another weekend pitted against the ASCS Northern Plains Region is next on
the docket, with the two Regions squaring off at Denison, Iowa's Crawford
County Speedway on July 18 and then Nebraska's Eagle Raceway on July 19.
After sending its top competitors to the Brodix Tournament of Champions in
August, the ASCS Midwest Region puts the wraps on the 2008 season with a
three-race set on September 5-7, that includes Butler County Motorplex
(Rising City, NE), a first-time stop at Minneapolis (KS) Raceway and Eagle
Raceway's Nebraska Cup, where the series champion will be crowned.
Several other events are being negotiated and may be added to the ASCS
Midwest Region schedule in the coming weeks.

The American Sprint Car Series is the nation's most prevalent Sprint Car
sanctioning body, with the series sanctioning 189 nights of racing at 90
different tracks throughout 25 different states and Canada in 2007. A total
of 866 different drivers competed in at least one ASCS event in 2007.
