We are gearing up for our Season Opener this Saturday, May 5th. Crews
have been busy with track preparation, concession stand renovations,
guardrail work, new PA system, new signboards, lots of painting and we
feel like things are on track for a great season!
The gates will open at 5:00 PM on Saturday and we would encourage you to
try to come early with your registration forms already filled out if
possible to avoid delays in the program. You can find these forms on the
website.
IMPORTANT: The back pit entrance will NOT be used this season. There
will be signs posted and also staff to assist with directions on the
first night. All racecars and pitside vehicles will need to enter the
fairgrounds through the main entrance on the west side. There are two
gates next to each other and we would like all racecars to use the gate
on the right side and drive straight into the fairgrounds. This road
will take you straight east and then just proceed around past the
livestock buildings and curve around to the north driveway coming back
west along the south side of the grandstand. Pit Passes will be sold in
the old KNOD ticket booth (little white building in the middle of the
fairgrounds). All persons wishing to purchase pit passes must register
and sign in at this location. After you sign in and get your pit pass –
proceed west and enter the pits through the gate by turn four. Pit
passes will not be sold in the main grandstand ticket office. Pit passes
are $22.00 or you can purchase a 10 punch card for $200.
Grandstand tickets must be purchased at the grandstand ticket both.
Admission prices are $9.00 for adults, $6.00 for students 11-18, and
kids 10 and under are FREE with a paid adult. Checks will not be
accepted in the grandstand ticket booth.
There will be a Nickel Toss for Kids during intermission on May 5th for
our opening night. Please bring your kids and have some fun!
In case of threatening weather – we will be using the Rainout Report on
www.dirtdrivers.com and also posting our website
www.shelbycountyfair.org/speedway. Track phone is 712-269-5691.
