Eagle Raceway 5-12: Danley, Bivens, Wulf and Kinnersley Rule on Dirt

From Eagle Raceway

A large crowd was on hand tonight for Colby Ridge's "Mom's Rule" night
at Eagle Raceway, America's Home Track. The fans were treated to a great
evening of racing in all 4 classes. Unlike the prolonged event 2 weeks
ago, this evenings racing was finished by 10:45.

Rich White took the early lead in the Stereo West Auto Toys Tuner A
Feature, followed closely by Barry Kinnersley. The pair proceeded to
pull away to a comfortable lead.
The compacts again provided the scariest portion of the event when
Schelpepper in the 59X barrel-rolled past the flag stand. In the ensuing
melee, the 99T of Tony Ross was launched into the air and ended up
upside down. Neither driver was seriously hurt.

When the race was restarted, White & Kinnersley again took the lead and
remained there until the very last lap when White inexplicably dropped
to 4th position, handing the win to Kinnersley.

The Valentino's Hobby Stock Feature saw Casey Moyer move into the lead
on the 4th lap, passing the 12 of Dan Noonan on the inside. With 9 laps
to go, the 21 of Derick Noonan moved into 2nd position followed on the
next lap by the 86 of Justin Wulf. With just 3 laps left, frontrunner
Moyer suffered a flat right rear tire. This allowed Wulf to move into
first followed by Shane Hiatt. Moyer held off the competition to take
the checkers.

After the races, Justin said that after running 1 year at Onawa in Iowa,
he decided to make Eagle his home. Justin also asked that we thank his
sponsors for giving him the chance to run at Eagle. They are Sidewinder
Chassis, Wolf & Sons Farms, Volnek Welding & Repair, Renegade Seeding,
Sid Dillon Chevrolet and Ken's Smoke House. He then said that without
his pit crew, consisting of Tim & Todd Wulf, Dave Volnek and Brian Crone
he could never have won.

When asked about tonight's track conditions, Justin related, "I love a
slick track like this. I just seem to do better on them. They don't have
to change a thing for me".

The Monster Energy Drink Modified A Main saw the 1M of Robert Brinkman
take the lead on the first lap. The cars ran 3 wide at times, jockeying
for positions. With 14 laps left, Scott Bivens moved into 1st place,
followed closely by the B9 of Sean Burkland. The top 3 didn't change
until the very last circuit when Chris Alcorn, the defending Modified
Champion moved into 3rd. Scott could not be located after the races to
be interviewed, but we welcome him back.

The last Feature event of the evening saw the Budweiser 360 Championship
Sprints take to the track. Josh Riggins took advantage of his pole
position to move to the front in the early going, followed by Jason
Danley and John Klabunde. On the 3rd lap, Danley moved into the lead
when Riggins went high in turns 1 & 2. His position was short-lived
however, as the caution flag came out on that lap when the 31 of Mark
Pace spun. Jason again moved to first on the restart and began to pull
away. With 10 laps left, John Klabunde moved into 2nd, followed on the
next lap by Brad Krutz. With 5 laps to go, Ryan Kitchen spun, bringing
out yet another yellow. This moved all lapped cars to the rear of the
field. Another caution came out on the last lap when Jeff Griffis and
Terry Holliman got together and spun between turns 1 and 2. Danley took
off on the restart and held on for the win.

"Kirk Cosaert, Dave Skillman, Marvin Brees and Jake Eberhardt made my
job easy tonight. Starting from inside the 2nd row I knew I had a chance
for the win, because they gave me an awesome racecar." "I don't know why
everyone's complaining about the track lately. As far as I'm concerned,
they can make it like this every single week. When the tracks like this,
it isn't a horsepower game. It's all about setup and a patient driver"
Jason continued. "I forgot to mention in my on-track interview that I
want to wish both my Mother and my wife a wonderful Mother's Day".

Please join us next weekend at Eagle Raceway, America's Home Track for
Junior Fan Club Night, presented by McDonald's. Ronald McDonald will be
on hand, with a bag full of goodies. Also, at intermission there will be
a $1000 money grab for the kids. Children 13 and under get in free. For
those of you who haven't yet picked up your Junior Fan Club Membership
