MLRA to sanction Beatrice Memorial Day Race

From Scott Wisdom

Beatrice Speedway is proud to announce the signing of the O'Reillys MLRA
Late Model series as the sanctioning body for its May 28th Memorial Day
race. This race will be a $3000 to win show with it paying $400 to start the
22 car field with the stipulation of starting 24 cars if there are over 40
Late Models present.

Since the original announcement of a super late model race and countless
hours of researching the different sanctioning bodies promoter Tim Fralin
reached a deal with the MLRA.

"A Late Model Race at Beatrice Speedway should stir a lot of excitement
around here, especially following up the Soup Race at I-80 which is a great
latemodel show in itself." Fralin added

"If you look at the caliber of drivers in this region, and include the
drivers that will show up after the Soup Race the potential for an awesome
show is definitely there. The Gage County Ag Society and myself debated this
show and chose to give it a shot.

"It was our belief that we were ready for this event and when the Memorial
Day gets here hold on to your seats because it will be an action packed race
around the 3/8ths mile track."

Current Points leaders (tie) John Anderson from Omaha and Terry Phillips of
Springfield, Mo. are expected to be on hand as well as Jeremy Payne of
Springfield Mo. , Kyle Berck of Marquette, Ne , Al Purkey of Coffeyville, Ks
and Beatrice's own Johnny "The JET" Saathoff.

The Buhr Trucking/RMF Factory Stocks will be the support class for this
event. Pit Admission is 25.00, Grandstand Adults-$12.00, 6-11 $3.00 and 5
and under are FREE. Pit gates will open at 3:00, Hot Laps at 4:30 and
racing at 5:30. Current Sponsors for this event include Budweiser and H&H
Distributing of Fairbury, Sutton Auto Repair of Odell, Ne, KWBE AM 1450 of
Beatrice and KUTT 99.5 of Fairbury.
