BEATRICE, Neb. (March 10) – IMCA Modifieds will be joined by
sanctioned Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts for the first time at
Beatrice Speedway's 14th annual Spring Nationals special Friday-
Sunday, March 16-18.
Modifieds chase a $5,000 top prize and a minimum of $500 to
start their 28 car feature, with the winner qualifying for the Fast
Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. The inaugural IMCA Sunoco Hobby
Stock Challenge pays $600 to win and $100 to start; Sport Compacts
vie for $200 to win and $35 to start.
National, regional and Smiley's Racing Products state points
will be awarded.
An open practice session for all classes is from 5:30-9 p.m.
Thursday. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and hot laps are at 6 p.m. Friday,
with Modified qualifying races and the Sport Compact program getting
underway at 7:30 p.m.
Pit gates open at 2:30 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and
qualifiers start at 5:30 p.m. Saturday for the Modifieds and Hobby
Stocks.
On Sunday, gates open at 11 a.m. and racing begins at 1 p.m.
for the Modifieds and Hobbies.
Pit passes are $10 on Thursday and $25 each of the next three
nights. There is no charge for grandstand admission for Thursday's
practice session; adult admission is $12 for each night's race program.
