Series Midwest Region gets back into the swing of things by taking to the
lightning-fast high banks of U.S. 36 Raceway in Cameron, MO, for Friday
night's annual Budweiser Sprint Car Shootout.
Grain Valley, Missouri's Brian Brown holds the slimmest of leads in the
points chase as the series takes to a track that has featured five different
ASCS Midwest winners in as many events.
Defending ASCS Midwest champion Jack Dover, a Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car
Series Rookie of the Year contender, topped last year's Midwest event at
U.S. 36 Raceway with other past series winners at the track including Jesse
Hockett, Chris Morgan, Toby Chapman and Johnny Anderson.
Brown, who finished third in last year's ASCS Midwest event at U.S. 36 and
second in 2005, carries just a two-point lead over Lincoln, Nebraska's Don
Droud, Jr., into the event, with Sedalia, Missouri's Jonathan Cornell
another ten points back in third.
Lincoln's Mike Chadd enters Friday's action ranked fourth, with Aurora,
Nebraska's Ryan Roberts rounding out the current top five. The balance of
the current top ten includes Jason Danley, Chad Humston, Lee Grosz, Mike
Boston and Ryan Anderson.
The ASCS Midwest Region has featured four different winners in as many 2009
main events including Billy Alley, Cornell, Humston and Shane Stewart.
The ASCS Midwest Regional forces will take on the Winged Outlaw Warriors in
Friday night's Budweiser Sprint Car Shootout.
Friday's racing action atop the high-banked, 3/8-mile U.S. 36 Raceway clay
oval is set to fire off at 8:00 p.m.
U.S. 36 Raceway is located 50 miles northeast of Kansas City on I-35 to Exit
54, then 6.3 miles west on U.S. 36, then 0.1 mile north on SR 33. For more

The ASCS Midwest Region is slated for 13 nights of competition at a half
dozen tracks throughout Nebraska and the surrounding areas of Missouri and
South Dakota.
The American Sprint Car Series, in its 18th year of sanctioning Sprint Car
racing events, brings the best of Sprint Car racing to nearly 100 different
tracks throughout 25 states and Canada in 2009. Anchored by the Lucas Oil
ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of
a dozen different Regions throughout the nation.
