Sprint car chassis manufacturer moving to Lincoln

An Illinois company that builds chassis for sprint cars plans to move its operations to Lincoln to be closer to Speedway Motors.

Eagle Motorsports of Springfield, Ill., will start operations in Lincoln on May 1 in space owned by Speedway at 300 Speedway Circle just southeast of First and Van Dorn streets.

Mike Tavlin, Speedway's chief financial officer, said Speedway is not buying Eagle Motorsports, nor is it investing in the company, but it will be partnering with the company in other ways.
