By Lonnie Wheatley

TULSA, Okla. (July 17, 2006) – The American Sprint Car Series Northern Plains and Midwest Regions are set for another pair of clashes in Iowa and Nebraska this Friday and Saturday night.

Friday night, the pair of Regions clash for the second time atop the semi-banked, ½-mile Crawford County Speedway dirt oval in Denison, IA. Then on Saturday night, it's the ASCS debut at the high-banked, 1/3-mile Eagle Raceway clay oval in Eagle, NE, just east of Lincoln.

The Midwest and Northern Plains Regions have clashed four times thus far in 2006, with Brian Brown topping events at Crawford County Speedway on June 16 and I-80 Speedway on April 8. Jason Johnson topped the June 15 challenge at Park Jefferson, with Jake Peters victorious in the most recent grudge match at I-80 Speedway on July 3.

South Dakota's Chuck Swenson has established a strong point lead in the Northern Plains championship points race, while 19-year-old Giltner, NE, racer Chad Humston has climbed atop a heated ASCS Midwest Region championship battle.

Humston currently holds a slim seven-point lead over 16-year-old hotshoe Jack Dover of Springfield, NE, with Sioux Falls, SD, ace Jake Peters just nine more points back in third. Lincoln's Toby Chapman is just 19 points out of the lead in fourth, with Lincoln's Jason Danley rounding out the current top five."
